Meet Josh and Lauren,

In case you were wondering, Josh and Lauren are married, and Danny is a turtle (he is not their love child – although they do love him). Their kids, Isaac and Zoey also love Danny.

Seaside Plumbing was founded by Josh in 2003. This was before Josh met Lauren. He had been working for a plumbing company and at age 21 was laid off. This spurred him to start his own plumbing business. It started as a commercial plumbing outfit that did large projects. But Josh found that he was not passionate about it. It was very cold and overly corporate. Josh is not a big paperwork guy. And he had a shoebox to prove it.

Shortly after starting Seaside Plumbing Josh met Lauren – who lucky for Josh, just happened to be working on a degree in business and accounting. One day over coffee Josh admitted to Lauren that he had not filed his tax returns, but he had paid his taxes. He had all the receipts. And they were all neatly organized in a shoebox. Lauren helped turn his shoe box full of receipts (albeit a VERY well-organized shoe box) into something a little more substantial: a thing called a tax return. Lauren was passionate about business but not plumbing. And all that was about to change.

When Lauren first met Josh, all she knew about plumbing was how to flush a toilet. Over time Josh pulled Lauren into his world. Josh has a way of explaining things. Over a dinner he would use a straw and a margarita to explain venting. His enthusiasm infected her. She now shares in his passion, and I can prove it. Just ask her which is more important for civilization: doctors or plumbers. And then sit back. You will think in that moment, Lauren is the passionate one.

Josh continues to be enthusiastic; he has even been known to examine plumbing in public places. Recently they were out for a romantic dinner and Josh was away from the table a little longer than usual. When he returned from the restroom. Lauren learned he was feeling fine. No uncomfortable bowel movements just a little restaurant plumbing problem he just had to fix. So, he fixed it and the world in now a better place. Lauren also catches him often talking about plumbing in his sleep. This is an unconfirmed rumour. Danny might know.

Outside of work Lauren loves spending time with her kids, family, friends and squeezing in some yoga.

Josh enjoys surfing which makes Danny a little nervous.
